This component accesses legal (non-criminal) services to low-income citizens of Clayton County who are faced with civil problems and complaints. To qualify for the Pro Bono Project’s services you must meet the program’s guidelines. Finally legal problems must be the type of case the project handles. The Pro Bono Project handles only certain types of civil cases, including such cases as:
Domestic Violence, Divorce, Child Custody, Adoption, Consumer / Finance, Guardianship, Landlord / Tenant and Probate.
|These services are accessed by utilizing a coordinator and the volunteer services of local private attorneys (pro bono) from the Clayton County Bar Association. Potential clients are screened for eligibility and referred to attorneys on a rotating basis. Eligibility is determined based on household income or the type of legal problems to be addressed.|
